Is this lancer a good buy?

I recently ran across a 2006 Lancer Evo IX MR for $24,999. I was considering buyin it but didnt have the money. It has 26,804 miles on it and has never been in a accident. The only thing im suspicious about is the 5 speed manual transmission. I thought the MR came with 6 speeds. I prefer the 5 speed because i heard you can get more power out of it then with the 6 speed but when i asked the guy he said the car was pretty much stock but the previous driver did something to it. Did the previous driver probably swap out the transmission or not?
