Hydrochloric acid + magnesium?

hi for my essment i need to draw a diagram and showparticles of the chemical reaction between hydrochloric acid + magnesium,i dont understand wot happens when they react and i have to describe the reaction using words like displacement , also i have to explain if the m of the beaker will go down or stay the same. thx 4 ur help!
