My neighbour called the police on us based on LIES. I need advice on how to handle the situation. Apartment.?

If you get any answers I would be interested in reading them...I live in toronto, in a basement apartment...recently a family have moved upstairs, my bedroom is directly under the room where they have the tv.....the tv is on until 5am sometimes and they have some little runt that likes running around, its very difficult to sleep....the landlord has been told, but these people just don't seem to dive a damn.....I wish there was something I could do rather than just move...
