Why do so many people wear North Face fleeces?

Like is this supposed to be a trend because I see more and more people wearing them. Like is it supposed to make you look cool or show you have money? And there are lot of the people who have the all black ones. It's like why would you want a jacket that many other people have. I walk into parties sometimes and everyone is like dressed the same because they have black North Face fleeces. Why the trend? What's so cool about them?
